WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Marble Surface

Chris A.

I am somewhat brand new to the entire "yoga world" if you will. As a man just turning 50 I kind of felt like these classes would be "a stretch" get it? :)  I did a couple initial classes and then I came across Concha's videos one day. I tried doing some of the poses on my own but I felt I really needed to do the classes in person as well. I think that many people are intimidated in general in the beginning, but I must say that she puts all people that walk through the door at ease immediately. She really recognizes in the class (which is important to me) that not everyone has been doing this for so long, so her slow approach and her descriptions of the poses are explained with patience and ease. I don't think anyone new to any form of yoga or meditation signs up to be told they're doing something "wrong", rather I would hope the instructor will simply come fix them for whatever they may may be missing. I have been attending these sorts of classes for the 3 months now, and I feel the best I have in many years thanks to Concha. I have had shoulder and neck pain for quite some time, and I am feeling better after every class, with more overall mobility, and flexibility which is a really great feeling. My energy and peace of mind and approach to my day is simply calmer for sure. The sound healing she incorporates at the end of the classes is complete and utter bliss and I think it is a wonderful way to end a class. Concha is absolutely fabulous at what she does and how she makes people feel, as her overall energy is simply infectious. So, if you want to feel refreshed, exhilarated, and in tune with who you are and what it is you want from life, I really do recommend you try one of Concha's classes. Thank you Concha for all you do! ~ : )

As a woman in her 50s who’d never felt comfortable in her body (due in part to childhood trauma), I never saw myself as a "yoga person.”  A therapist recommended I give it a try, and I became a regular at Concha’s vinyasa flow classes. From the start, Concha puts students at ease, gently guiding in a clear but lighthearted way that banishes self-consciousness, keeps you motivated, and creates a rewarding experience of gradual mastery and growing pride. The time just flies. After working with Concha for a year and a half, I notice so many differences: I feel stronger, lighter, more sure-footed and balanced, and truly at home in my body.

Weekly attendance with Concha is mandatory to my well-being. I deeply appreciate the manner in which instructor Concha designs her sessions. For me, each class is a form of Yoga poetry. When I leave her classes I feel spiritually polished as though I have experienced a deep form of prayer. She begins class by drawing attention inward to a  pure space from which her students can set attention.  From here she weaves yogic wisdom and encourages mindfulness as she slowly awakens the body through the practice of yoga postures. Her sessions are both subtle and rigorous. Concha trusts the ancient wisdom of yoga and can lead others with grace in a powerful weave of integration allowing mind, body and spirit to come into true alignment. I am grateful to have found such a wonderful yogi.

I was invited to attend one of Concha class at a stressful point of my life.  I had never taken yoga before needless to say I did not know what I was about to get myself into.
Concha has a way to connect with her students and class that enable them to let go as they are being guided through the session.  She is very informative, welcoming and supporting.  The singing bowl is dive, pure bliss - I was hook at the first vibration!
It's now almost a year since that first class and I can attest her session is one of the best I have attended in my travel across the country.  I now incorporate yoga in my weekly routine and finding life a little bit less stressful.
